Winter Day
The freezing rain
Pats on the windows,
Drops from the roof
Onto sills and puddles,
As I sit in my comfy
Chair reading a book.
I am alone and in
A reflective mood,
Solitude fills the rooms
And the wind laments
Not being allowed inside.
It is inside my head,
Moaning winter laments
And then the furnace
Comes on giving warmth.
My thoughts of her give
Warmth in my soul,
Her smile lights up
My memories and spirits
As she reminds me
That better times
Lie ahead when I
Will be with her
To share a
Conversation,
A look,
An embrace,
A kiss and cuddle
Holding
Her close.
Even on a
Dreary
Winter day.
