Every joke is
A tiny revolution,
That’s what collapsed
The Soviet Union.
Communist nepotism
Brought the peoples’
Scorn and derision.
They joked there is
No Pravda ( truth/freedom,
Communist Party newspaper)
In Izvestia (news, Official
Russian newspaper),
And no Izvestia in Pravda.
And a thousand other jokes
About the inefficiency and
Corruption of the USSR.
Like Alexander Pope’s
Poem on the British
Government in the 1700s,
“For forms of government
Let fools contest,
What ‘err is best
Administered is best.”
Today our useless
Political parties no
Longer represent principles
But only principals.
And too many
Americans
Are unable
To read
Between
The lines
If they
Read
At all.
