Hope Springs Eternal

Pandora asked me about
Her name,
I told her in ancient
Greek mythology there
Was a girl,
A young maiden,
Whom the Gods asked
To guard a box or
Small chest, she was
Overcome by curiosity
And opened the box from which
Escaped into the world
Pain, anxiety, fear, discomfort
And grief, and Pandora
Slammed the box shut.
But the last spirit in the box
Called to her to let it out,
And Pandora opened
The lid and
Out flew
Hope
which cancels the bad
Spirits that escaped.
The Pandora myth is
About every girls’ chastity.
From Pandora’s box
Comes the hope of
Children.
And, if I listen
Close,
I can hear the
Soft, tender
Echos of
Hope
Calling for
For a bit of
Pleasure
As well.
Pandora
Smiles.
