My aunt Blondell,
Attending the funeral
Of her elder sister Ruth,
Was standing in the kitchen
Of family chatting when a five
Year old boy asked her how
Old she was to which she
Replied she was 85 and
Asked the boy how old
Did he think she was to
Which he said 100.
He added that
He bet she
Could not
Do this,
He laid on the floor and moved his arms and legs to make a snow
Angel and Blondell got
Down on the floor and
Made snow angel
Movements to
His amazement and then got up
Again to drink her coffee and
Talk with family to the
Equal amazement
Of my sister
Susan.
The Mings are an unusual family
And capable of both stay
Where they lay as well
As deep compassion
But neither in an
Expected way
And can be
Laconic or
Chatty
But
Never predictable and always
With a wicked and dry
Sense of humor
Both witty and
Physical.
