Midnight Chats

I read until midnight then
Video chat with her,
She is in California and
I am in Maryland,
Though I will join her
As soon as I heal
My foot wound.
I call and she is in bed
With her dog Rosy,
We chat and smile
To share some
Thoughts and exchange
Sweet endearments of
Our love and affection.
We tell each other
About our day and
Remind one another
Of things the other
Needs to do or has
Forgotten about,
We each need the
Reminder and are
Touched that we
Have someone
With whom to
Pillow talk who
Cares about us
And whom we
Can care about.
We share our
Hopes and
Fears and
Pledge our
Love and
Say
Goodnight.
