Sons have sold out

Conference for Aggies
Over the long weekend.
I made the game risking
All our savings of $5000
To make 4000 copies,
My loyal wife asking me
If I could throw the 5k
Into a fire to which I
Reply yes but not twice.
We have risked pretty
Much years of savings.
When the boys and I
Pull into the driveway,
We grab several garbage
Bags and enter Mom’s
And my room turning on
The light waking her,
A dangerous act.
She sits up in bed eyeing
Us with a look that says
This had better be good.
We all three dump the
Garbage bags full of
Money onto her and the
Bed as she looks around
Patting the money as we
Laugh and she says OK,
Waking her is justified.
We make five times our
Investment in the first
Year buying a new car
And a backyard pool.
I re-publish but I have
Already saturated my
Market so sales are slow
But enough to allow us
To eat out more often
And keep us busy on
Weekends assembling
Games and mailing them.
Taking risks is sweeter
When they pay off,
I persevere at my day
Job at TXDOT and teaching
College at night at ACC but
Life is different as we have
Gotten ahead and can handle
Emergencies and save for
Our retirement.
Game sales allowed us
To financially
Breathe.
