She is off
To yoga
To meet
Her friends,
She points
Our I am
Unable to
Descend the
Stairs in her
Friend’s home
In my wheel
Chair and so
I have some
Time to read
Alone.
She needs her
Time away though
My driving would
Be safer …
I read and
Listen to NPR,
Waiting
Hoping
To hear her
Return tonight
Bright and
Cheery
But
Aware
As well of
The politics
Of any relationship.
Academics, grocers,
And clever people,
They weigh everything.
