Do I Say It
Do I say it often enough that I love you or does the frequency and repetition tarnish the words? Good questions abound whereas good answers are rare. To hear those words, I love you, reassures our core need for affection, attention and admiration. A hard combo to resist.
But, does the repetition of the sentiment cause it to grow dull through overuse?
I tell the woman I live with that I love her several times a day; though, we are still on our seven-month honeymoon phase I expect to last for more than a decade. She tells me the same but only sporadically. It works for us.
Though I am a monumental egotist, I do not need frequent responses whereas she is modest, well-spoken and dependable enough to put up with my declarations of love. As I said, it works for us.
Which brings us to the point. Each couple must work out whatever works for them. I do not want to miss a chance to tell her I love her and she so values the phrase as precious, she holds it in reserve for those special moments.
Well, it works for us. Find what works for you.
