Triage

How do we triage
Our lives day-to-day,
What is urgent and
What is superfluous.
Most of us put our
Family first,
Children above
All else come first.
Then our spouse
Then parents
And siblings.
Then friends
Who are most dear
And friends we value.
Then who? Or what,
Our jobs if we enjoy
Them which often
Means those with
Whom we work.
So why do we
Spend so much time
Frittering away time,
Which is limited,
On other things?
We worry about
What we cannot
Control or significantly
Impact when those closest
To us need our attention,
Why waste time on
Left or right tilted
News or fears
Of what we
Cannot
Help.
Why? Because it is
Fun to speculate
And gossip on
What we can
Not be held
Accountable.
Of course if we
Do not vote then
We get what we deserve,
Government by, for and
Of the upper ten per
Cent with bread
And circuses
For the
Rest.
Or,
Triage
Out old men
Triage in
Women
And focus
Government
On people
Not profit.
