Rainy
How odd
A rainy day
In San Diego,
Gray skies open
Raindrops steadily
Fall on a thirsty earth
Slowing traffic, speeding
Pedestrians who bustle from
One awning to the next eagerly
On their errands of the day so
Intent on the moment to look
Up at water falling from the
Sky pattering on leaves,
Sidewalks, a few faces
Turned up smiling at
Mother nature’s try
At washing us to
Cleanse, renew,
Reinvigorate,
A moisty
Celebration
Of life on our
Blue-water planet.
Rainy days isolate us
For awhile in some dry
Place to sip some hot tea,
Read a bit perusing our
Fellow creatures enjoy
Watching raindrops
Random patterns,
Like events, in
Our lives,
Each of
Us.
