Thing most of us do in life worth
Anything in the long run as all else
Is just so much paper or passion,
Best not to expect any thanks
Or flowers most of the time.
Kids have their lives to live
Their kids to raise and
Our job is to set them
On the road to family
If we can and not to
Expect thanks back.
So often kids want
Their parents to
Conform to the
Role the kid
Thinks is
Best for
Them,
I mean
Best for the
Kid not the parent.
Ingratitude in kids is
Best ignored until they
Try to shunt you into an
Old folks incarceration oasis
So they can better manage your
Life savings and property so as
To protect what kids see as
Their rightful inheritance.
Some parents are
Blessed with
Kids who
Love
Them
For just
Themselves
But many kids
Are not so tolerant
Of their elders seeing
Parents more as patients
Than as independent adults.
Kids too often reject their
Parents remarriage for
Fear of losing control
Of what kids have
No control over,
Who their
Parent
Loves
Not
Just
Because
Kids think
The newcomer
Is a bad choice but
Because they fear any
Loss of their control
Over the person
Who used to
Control
Them
As
Kids.
Smile
As you
Mention
To your kids
You are considering
Adopting a third world child,
Try to wait until your kid has a
Mouthful of milk or wine then
Ask ain’t they happy to
Have a new sibling
To keep them
Company.
