Grayness covers
The hills and beach
At dawn making a pastel
World which the sun will change
To a bright blue sky and sea
Green foliage tints of beige
Houses and buildings all
Emerging minute by
Minute among the
Pines palms and
Eucalyptus
Trees in
Southern
California.
Seagulls call
As the light grows
Perceptibly brightening
Waking color though
I do enjoy the hours
Of grayness which
I savor minute by
Minute until the
Bustling colors
And sounds
Of daylight
Wake me
From my
Reminisces
To embrace each
New day given
Grayness to
Teal to hot
Summer
With a
Cool
Breeze.
