Breathe
Civility allows freedom
To breathe deep the fresh
Intoxicating aroma of democracy
Which makes America in all it’s
Diversity what Lincoln called
Us, the last best hope of
The world and zealous
Party politics should
Be second to our
Mutual respect
Or what is the
Point of the
Land we
All call
Home.
We are
No Russian
Autocracy no
British aristocracy
No Hispanic ... but wait,
We are the whole world in
Microcosm only with flip-flops
Fast food TV to gizmos and
Opportunity beyond the
Imagination to make
The world a garden
Where we accept
Our views as of
Equal merit
Even if we
Differ,
Vote
And see
But love one
Another day-to-day.
