Haircut
Haircuts partition
The lives of boys and
Men memories of where
And who cut our hair over
Our lives which for me would
Be my father until I was 19 when
My wife-companion took over
The job and she was much
More patient with me than
My Dad had been though
All my sibs suffered his
Quick as possible cuts
Lasting for an eternity
As a kid on a stool
Waiting for the
Cut on my ear
Or pull of my
Hair
Which
Makes the
Barber chair
Memories clearer
Thinking of the barbers
I have met and their lives:
Their children & progeny their
Electric & water bills for over
Ten thousand dollars by a
Mistake their hopes and
Dreams all sitting still
A captive audience
Thankful sports
Was not their
Penchant
That day
Hoping
To escape
Shorn but not
Sheeted glad to
Escape for a
Few months
More until
Next time
I have to
Get a haircut.
