My old friend
Does not care
About history so
Much as here and
Now in her life and
Who am I to speak of
History to one who can
Not escape her history so
I celebrate the here and now
Of her life and our friendship to
Wish her good fortune health
And the love of her children
Who will over time come to
Appreciate her efforts on
Their part even if they
Do not show it now.
Cold comfort for a
Friend with MS
Whose day-to-
Day triumphs
Are doing what
Has gotta be done
Keeping hope alive each
Day still doing the impossible.
I am so very proud of her I
Aspire to emulate her
Determination but I
Cannot know how
She perseveres
With such an
Admirable
Blythe
Spirit.
There but
For the grace
Of God go you
And I so pray we
Take care about
Our day-to-day
Cares.
