Childhood to size up
Our opportunities
And take what
Affection we
Can where

Yearns not

Wanting to be

Whom we choose to share
Our life in a relationship if not
Head over heels in love
Than at least heels
Over head.
Though,

Optimist ever
Persistent hoping
For a storybook ending
Patient in perseverance as

Comes down the road.
