Walk I
She walks up
To the booth he
Sits at as though
She were walking
Up to her father with
A contrite step cautious
As a formal Japanese tea
Ceremony every movement
Measured for purity playing
With a preciousness admirable
As he looks over his business
Papers she glides into the
Seat across from him as
Silent as a shadow but
Shapely appearing as
Young as imagination
To his white hair and
Beard of an old man
So I muse on their
Relationship until
He speaks with
The voice of a
Teen and she
Replies as a
Mother in
Soothing
Tones
And
I see they
Are a couple
Comfortable in
Their relationship
Though in appearance
Like a grandfather
And his grand
Daughter so
I expect her
To shout
Grandfather
And him to answer
Heidi! Heidi!
