Village

Is the village our
Preferred living area,
Do not neighborhoods
Serve as a sort of village
Format rural urban or as a
Sub-division in between all
A place we feel comfortable
Relaxed among our fellow
Villagers all with similar
Interests in where we
Live shop dine hang
Out in parks but a
Mall is more of a
Fair or market
We all mix in
As we do in
Museums
Galleries
Civic
Centers.
And is loyalty
To our village just
Behind loyalty to faith
And family and of all three
Do we get to choose this or
That faith family village as
We seem to do in this
Country where our
Speech & accent
Determine more
Than any other
Thing tribal
Loyalties
Unless
Spell
Checkj
Breaks down
All barriers to
Separateness in
These United Cousins
Of America so is it accent
Or income that separates us
Into tribes at war with our
Selves or is our take
On faith the fatal
Flaw as my
Paradigm
Is your paradox,
A faith in whatever.
I only ask as societies
Tear themselves to
Pieces over such
Trifles even in
A village of
Cousins.
