Train I

In the night
We hear the
Train whistle
Far away wail
Hello and then
Goodbye as we
Pull our covers up
Roll over back to our
Restful sleep as those
On the train curse their
Decision to sleep on a deep
Freeze on tracks hurtling through
The dark at speeds in excess of
Over 40 miles an hour hour
After hour unless blocked
By a snow mechanical
Problem or a staff
Change all of
Which may
Leave you
On a bus
Though
Hope
Springs
Eternal from
The stupid like
Me my only satisfaction
Is I am not traveling with a
Train enthusiast which
Would be even worse
Than imaginable
But the dining
Car table or
View car
My yet
Hold
Some
Fresh he’ll
All thoughts
As I peruse my
Train trip north
Into winter
Near our
Border
North
In a
Roomette
Roulette.
Dumb?
Don’t
You
Think
I know that.
