Age

The unexamined
Wife is not worth having
As a neighbor but perhaps
Will do as a friend in old age,
We learn in time to be a bit less
Judgemental a bit more of a
Tolerant sort as old coots
And funny stories are
Treasured like my
Late wife’s Mom
Who way back
When we were
Living as one
But not yet
Married
Addressed
Her close family
With the query what
Are we going to do with
Dan to which my late wife
Replied she intended to
Do Dan as often as
Possible to her
Mom’s horror
And the
Near unanimous
Amusement of aunts
Uncles brothers sisters.
So, when I see a friend or
Family individual get up
On their soapbox late
In life I have to just
Laugh as there
Is no fool like
An old one
And I can
Testify
It has
Been
Me
As well
As them.
