Gift

I have a gift
To admire beauty
And in the winter most
Especially I need to see the
Paintings of Van Gogh and
Fra Angelico both sincere
In portraying their view
Of the world around
Them I live to look
At the past from
The eyes of a
Witness who
Was there
To see
And
Feel the
Landscapes
Faces colors hot
Or cold breezy or still
And I blink between
Paintings as new
Eyes look for
Me to see
Each
Time I am
Humble at their
Vision seen best by
Me on a winter’s
Day wandering
From room to
Room glad
Not to be
Blind or
Cold
Sitting
Now and
Again to savor
A painting or a hot
Cup of tea with
A bit of milk
And an old
Book to
See
Through.
