Distancing, hard to
Get close to her heart
Or any other portion of
Her anatomy but my youth
Prevented me from realizing
Dating meant one thing to her
And something quite different to
Me though in hindsight it was funny
Two people could spend time so
Close yet so far apart but her
Mask was not visible to me.
I suppose her insistence
On space between us
When I held her slow
