The quality
Of pity like mercy
Is not strained but flows
Free of conditions or strings
Pity simply is our heart’s remorse
For another in part realizing we
Might need pity under similar
Burdens so just as we show
Mercy even to those guilty
So we owe pity as well
For there but for the
Grace of God go
We and one day
We may need
Mercy and
Pity our
Selves.
