Couple

My new neighbors
Upstairs are a nice
Young couple whom
I help move a new bed
Mattress up the stairs as
They are struggling with it
And now a week later I hear
From other neighbors they are
Isolating in their river cabin trying
To recover from the coronavirus
They realized they had a day or
So ago so as there is no one in
Their apartment and they and
Both their dogs are all gone
I take advantage to play a
Movie a bit louder than I
Would normally do as
Well as some other
DVDs then go to
Bed to read and
Text and write
Poems until
About two
Minutes
Ago
When
I heard
Someone
Cough in the
Room above mine.
I wonder if I have been
Keeping someone upstairs
Awake with my noise but will
Not know until I see the couple
And apologize for my loud noise.
And as I am about to switch
Out the light to go to
Sleep I wonder
Who could
Be just
Home
Upstairs
As I do not
Hear the dogs.
Another cough
From upstairs
Then silence
Then I try
To fall
Asleep ...
