Rain

I am old
Walking in
The gentle
Rain at night
Peering into the
Shadows trying not
To slip on the wet side
Walks using my cane on
The grass for balance as
The lights reflect across the
Lake in lines sparkling darklings
Shimmer moving as I walk along
Alone in the dark I see the blue
Glow of tv tubes through the
Windows feel the rain wet
My hair run down into my
Eyes as I pick my way in
Solitude among the
Dark shadows as
No cars come
By no other
Walkers
Pass by
Only a
Dog
Barks
Somewhere
And I wish I could
Silently share the night
The rain the wet sidewalk.
