Garden
I am eight
Visiting Grandma
And Grandpa I walk out
Into the vegetable garden
Where Grandma’s sunbonnet
Looks like the back of an old
Conestoga wagon canvas
Cover with an enormous
Shade bill horseshoe
Shaped and she
Smiles and tells
Me to carry in
A basket of
Carrots
Then come
Back to help
In the garden
A treat I do not
Appreciate as a
Small boy but glad
To help her, my Grandma.
I wonder what she thought of me?
