Skeered
I hear Mr. Lincoln’s
High pitched twang
Talk of being skeered
Of the unknown how we
Are afeered about what we
Are ignorant about more than
What we feel we do know about.
It makes sense to me so many
Folks are hid away in their
Hidey place from a virus
They most likely have
Already had and did
Not even know it
Jist skeered an
Afeered of the
Unknown too
Much grip
On what
They
Might lose
To realize the
Difference twixt
Hermit an hope for
Tomorrow by common
Sense masks and some
Social distancing without
Giving up our contacts
With friends and our
Family but perhaps
Common sense is
Not so common
If one is overly
Skeered an
Afeered
Covid
May
Kill ‘em
R’sicken ‘em
Three chances
In a about a hundred.
Young folks are too much
Aware of passion to give in
To trying to hang on to stuff.
One glance eyes meet mask off.
I hear Mr. Lincoln say you can
Fool all of the people some
Of the time and some of
The people all of the
Time but you can’t
Fool all of the
People all
Of the
Time.
Boy
Meets girl
Their gonna
Hold hands kiss
Cuddle and unmask
Cuz it’s our nature to
Mix, Mother Nature
Knows she can
Beat the
Odds.
Lincoln
Sez hitch
Up a chair
To the table
Share fiddles
Cuz that reminds
Me of a good story.
