Strange

How strange
This pandemic
Seems forcing us
To spend time with
Family which we need
To do anyway forging bonds
Of memory that will last us all our
Lives forever grateful we got to
Know one another better all
Because, because we had
No choice forced to pick
Togetherness over
More money or
Our privacy
We call a
Job but
Really
Our
Escape.
And leisure
Time that had
Been from family
Has become with
Our family causing
Children to mature kids
To grow up adults to learn
About their offspring all against
Their will forced by a pandemic
To be part of a family again
A skill lost in the 60s and
70s when family became
Second to careers for
Moms and the pill
Liberated woman
But made kids
Orphans to
TV then
Video
Games
Now lessons
Until the virus
Makes us turn again
To family over our
Life away from
Home but
Now at
Home.
Never see’d
The hand of the
Lord so very clear.
Unless you think kids
Are just an inconvenience.
The pandemic is so
Surreal and
Strange.
