Dry

Sky

I watch
The West Texas
Light blue sky hoping
For clouds to bring rain
But it is not yet that time.
One day I will hear thunder
As the raindrops pelt the dust
Then fill the arroyos with surging
Water overflow the water tank and
Patter against the roof a sound
I’ve waited for too long but glad
To hear again in this dusty old
Emerald gem of an oasis in
A land God has decided
To serve up de seca
But with prayers
Will add agua
Dulce just
For la
Dueña
Donna y
Caballeros
De cielo azul.
