Grieve

Why is it so
Hard to grieve
Until we can blame
Someone or thing for our
Loss and only then resolve our
Denial anger bargaining depression
Acceptance but first we seek to pin
Blame so we may purge any guilt
We may feel about ourselves.
Excuses flood in on us all
The reasons it was not
Our fault we are not
Responsible so
Who is guilty
If not us in
A hurry to
Point the
Finger?
We are so
Primitive in our
Grief only a good
Character can allow
Us to complete our cycle
And grieve our loss honorably.
Shoulder what blame may be
Apportioned and grieve your
Agony to reach acceptance
That things happen in life
With no rhyme or reason
And remember death
Is our final ally when
The game is no
Longer worth
The candle.
Time to
Die.
Oh, do
Cheer up.
Happens in the
Best of regiments.
Don’t harsh my buzz.
Birds sing dogs bark the
Wind blows over the grass.
Cherish what you can in
Memories of the good
Times and forget all
The unforgivable
While around
You others
Eat their
Lunch.
