Guilt

Why I’ve
Wondered
Over the years
Are some folks so
Prejudiced as it
Seems more
Than just
Basic
Ignorance
Of another race
Or ethnicity and my
Conclusion is it’s guilt.
When we consciously
Do a wrong we don’t
Like to be reminded
Of it especially by
Those we have
Wronged who
Claim some
Reparation
So why not let
Each citizen on
Their tax return be
Able to check a box
To donate whatever
They choose to
One or more
Groups
Who feel
They need
Reparations
With the money
Donated going to
Help pay the taxes
Of those in that group
Who cannot as easily
Pay their fair share
Thus assuaging
The hurt and
The guilt in
A useful
Way.
