Tragedy

America.
The Juneteenth
Proclamation in Texas
Was to allow slaves freed
By the 13th Amendment
To finish planting the
Spring crops like
Cotton before
Being told
They’d
Been freed
January 1865.
Or, Teddy Roosevelt
Disbanded the Army’s
Elite black regiments
Because of a race
Riot against the
Black soldiers
In Laredo so
After 1906
Forcing our
Black troops
Into noncombat
Roles until the Korean
War with only a few
Exceptions as
Experiments
In WW2.
