Searching on a cruise
Ship for a piece of actual
Cake thick as wedding
Cake white yellow or
Chocolate with an
Icing to match so
Why can’t I find
A real piece of
Cake? I find
Only fluff
Sponge
Cake
Or even
Worse some
Sorry excuse for
Real cake full of air
Bubbles lacking that
Solid tactile feel of cake.
German chocolate cake
With coconut icing or
A yellow cake with
Chocolate icing
Or anything
You’d call
Cake.
There is
No bakery
For desserts
Onboard ship
That serve
Cake.
There are
Pretty good
Cookies ...
