Brownie

I am ten
Asking my
Mother why
She tells me
When she was
Younger than me
She was a Brownie
A pre-Girl Scout group
But she then tells me
She was kicked out
When tasked with
Making a fire so
I ask why and
She says for
Trying to
Rub two
Cub
Scouts
Together
To make fire
So I sigh, roll
My eyes at her
I am too young to
Appreciate both my
Older teen sisters
Are rolling their
Eyes too all of
Us taught a
Joke is a
Better
Story than
A little Jewish
Girl’s life in 1924.
