Hypocrisy

I am surprised
By the hypocrisy
Of those who
Condemn art but
Cannot create art.
Those who wish
A book banned,
A painting draped,
A poem redacted,
A melody silenced,
To fit their own
Righteous moral
Point of view.
Hypocrisy loathes
And condemns
What it cannot
Comprehend.
There is no way
To censor bad art,
Only priggish fools
With spray cans and
Bully zealots with
A book bonfire fetish
Would ever try.
True bad art dies
From neglect,
Let it die in peace.
Real art stands the
Test of time,
It is read,
It is viewed,
It is heard.
Nothing can
Stop that
From happening.
Let it be,
Time will
Decide,
Not
Hypocrisy.
