Honesty

I have been
Too honest
About my feelings
With some who
Are unable to
Hear the truth.
I apologize for
My brusque words
And regret any
Hurt I have
Inadvertently
Caused another.
I cannot change
Who or what
I am nor do
I wish to change,
If my poems or
Words are too
Much for you
Then you must
Not listen to
What offends you
Though the truth
Will set you free.
Hide in the dark
And ignore
The stars,
Do not dream
Of what frightens
Or annoys you.
I will not
Change to
Conform to
Your limits
And so
Goodbye.
I have dreams
To live and
A friend
To share
Them with.
