Why are so many
Americans so gullible?
So easily fooled,
Scammed,
Conned
And bamboozled?
Is this an indictment
Of our educational
System and of
Many of our teachers?
Do we still teach
Civics and ethics
Or do we do
Paperwork?
How could anyone
Believe Moscow’s
Propaganda over
Their own common sense?
How? Why?
Fear and ignorance of
Anyone viewed as different,
Exhaustion from
Political correctness,
News minus journalism,
And entire generations raised
By TV and unaware
Of reality,
Burdened with religion
Without faith.
Just so many empty heads
Who do not read
A variety of sources,
Covered with expensive
Coifs and Easter
Bonnets.
We hear what
We want to hear,
We see what
We want to see,
We do not read
Both sides,
Only what we
Want to believe.
Abraham would
Tell a joke to
Make a point,
But the self-righteous
Have no sense
Of humor.
