Magic

Once there was
Magic in the world,
Now we call it science.
You can still see the
Fingerprints of magic,
We call it coincidence.
The seemingly accidental
Crossing of paths of
Persons and things
That defy statistical
Analysis and even
Common sense.
We try to deny any
Magic is involved and
Prate about the odds,
But deep down we
Know that something
Has taken place that
Defies logic and reason.
Some thing older than
Rational thinking,
Some kind of magic.
Our senses from long
Ago are still working
And we are made
Uncomfortable by
Our awareness of them.
We sometimes know
What we cannot know,
And seek some
Sense of our sensory
Abilities of sorts.
But, you already
Know what I meant,
Don’t you.
