Today

We meet today for the first
Time though we have fallen
In love over the past three
Months video chatting two
Or three times daily,
Travel friends to lovers.
We first decided we would
Share a cabin then a friendship
And then our lives together,
I move in with her in San Diego
In late May sharing all expenses
Of the heart and head and
On our home and new life.
She asked me last night if I
Were nervous about today,
I said no, just anticipation.
My sons and their wives
And both our families
Have encouraged us and
She and I will have the house
Where I live to ourselves.
I am so lucky to have met her,
We make a couple who cares
And shares, we will spend what
Time we have left together
Enjoying life day-to-day.
Today we begin a two weeks
Visit as I heal a foot wound and
We dance to the music of time,
We start today hand-in-hand
Our future lives as one.
To find our other half is rare,
To find a partner a second time
Who loves me as I do her is
A miracle too wonderful
For words to express.
Maybe I should wash my hair?
