Entertaining

I am 70 and entering
A new career as a
Lecturer for HAL the
Holland America Line
Speaking on the history
Of where whatever ship
I am on happens to be.
In texting and talking with
My boss in New York City
She tells me my job will be
To give lectures on sea days
And other duties as assigned,
Then she says your real job is
To be entertaining or she will
Fire me.
I reply that it sounds like any
Dating relationship I ever ran
Into in American society and assured her I understood.
This is my third year to
Lecture on HAL ships,
I have met and made
Friends with many
Wonderful folks
And intend to
Continue if
My friend
With whom I live
Agrees she
Wants
To go.
But,
I
Must be ...
Entertaining.
