Old Friends I

Our old friends
Sentient or
Printed and
Bound hard
Back or paper,
Are precious to
Us knowing they
Will never betray
Or abandon us,
We will always
Trust and hold
If sentient,
Each other
Dear.
To cherish
An old friend
Is to sit with
Stocking feet
On a cold winter
Night in front of
A fire toasting
Our footsies
Reading a
Good book,
Smiling at
Our dog
Or chatting
Him or her,
Reminiscing
That new
Friends are
Tomorrow’s
Old friends.
A present
We give
Ourselves.
