Autumn Eden
The days shorten
To a cooler feel in
The breeze,
Rain is coming
If only a foretaste
Of winter while
I indulge in
California
Dreaming
On this
Autumn day.
Still too sunny
For the reflections
Of a winter day,
Still time for
Reflecting
On the beauty
Of this southern
California Eden.
Gardens to see
And stroll in before
The cold and rain
Cover the coast
For awhile.
Paths yet to
Explore,
New
Friends
Yet to make.
This place is so
Enchanting it is
Impossible for me
Not to savor
As I walk
About
In the
Garden
Of delights
With Carol’s
Smile as
Bright
As
Sunshine
Watching me
From an upstairs
Window over
Looking our
Garden
Paths
Benches
And chairs,
My book by me
On a small
Table,
Surrounded
By plants
Trees
Shrubs
Bushes
And
Flowers.
This other
Eden.
