Days
I think of the happiest
Days I spent with my sons,
When they experienced
The joy of life as children.
My eldest laughing as we
All stood by an asphalt road
At dusk exploding toy models
Of ships and planes using
Fire-crackers on the 4th of July.
My middle son smiling as his
Mom and I explained to his two
Brothers that he had gotten
The easiest weekly chores
Because he was our favorite
While we all laughed together.
My youngest playing with
Our dog Sasha in the backyard
Grouping together then running
In different directions as the
Dog ran circles herding them.
All these memories and so
Many more of happy days
My children still cherish
As our family goes
Forward to new
Generations
Learning
How to
Share
Days
We cherish.
I watch my sons
And larger family pass
On the joys of sharing
Together what makes
Life worth living for
Most folks even
Today.
