Far Shore
I watch the waves run up
Onto The beach as
The Pacific chases kids
Ankles across the sand,
My friend spent many
Times with her children
At the beach as did I
With my wife and sons
On the Texas Gulf Coast.
The waves here are bigger
But the fun of children is
Just the same over time
At any beach planet-side.
I can not speak for beaches
Of other liquids on other
Planets and moons here
In our solar system,
Galaxy or corner
Of the universe,
Though I know they
Exist and some
Sentient kids
Play along
Those icy
Beaches
Far out
Among
The stars
Under skies
The colors of
Imagination but
Still seeing the same
Stars above at
Night that I
Glimpse
Before
I fall
To
Sleep.
Though
We share
A universal
Sentience we
All must learn to
Accept diversity
Over prejudice
About what
We fear in
The dark
May be
Like
Us.
