Temptation

Properly restrained
Though it is not,
Temptation unlike revenge
Is a dish best served hot.
It is nevertheless also best
Avoided if at all possible.
But who can avoid such
A spontaneous emotion
Which if plotted is no longer
Temptation but seduction,
The former can be forgiven
But the latter would be both
Impolitic and impolite.
Secrets in a relationship
Are like land mines just
Waiting for someone
To step on it or
Obviously around it
Which means the secret
Is not so secret anymore.
Love honor and Abby road
Were our own watchwords in
The 60s when there was,
As in Astronomical pre-history,
A Big Bang only you were not there.
When we all could believe
That honesty really is
The best policy so,

Do it indiscreet...
