Sunshine II

I sit in sunshine
In the garden
A green haven
Under a blue sky
A slight breeze
Reminds me it
Is winter and
I should wear
A sweater
But I do not.
Far below this
Hillside is a
Valley road,
Sounds of
Occasional traffic
But all else is quiet
Except a distant dog
Gives an occasional yip,
I am healing up a blister
From too long a plane ride
Using the sun to purge
The wound along
With some
Antibiotic,
Carol is
Napping
On the den
Couch guarded
By our red dog Rosie.
The two black and
White cats prowl
About curiously,
Contentment
Comes from
Many bits
Like this
As I
Watch
The ants
Birds branches
Sway a little
As I hope
Family
Friends
Folks
Are
OK.
I try
To feel
How they all
Are doing by what
They communicate and
What they do not say
Thinking good to
Them waiting
For news
Not on
FB.
I worked
Many jobs much
Of the time and can
Commiserate with
Life day-to-day,
I wish them
Luck as I
Know
How
We
Need
Good fortune
Though our bedrock
Must be hard work
For as long as we
Can be useful
To ourselves
By being
Useful
To
Others.
