Walking Again

I am 72 learning to walk
Once again following rehab
In the Spring and a move to San
Diego in June by August my
Rehab clinic gives me a
Prosthetic lower right
Leg and left foot.
I put them on
And take a
Few steps
Then I
Am
Walking
Again after
A lapse of eight
Months laid up on
Walkers crutches and
Wheelchairs, in two minutes
Learning a new balance
Then a steady gait with
A cane thanks to my
Children friends
Rehab folks
Nurses
And
Some
Doctors
All helping
Me to walk again.
Now I am lecturing on
Holland America Line ships
On voyages all over the
World with my family
Friends, meeting my
Old shipmates
Again at sea,
When I talk
About
Pirates in
The Caribbean
I tell my audience
All I need is a
Patch and a
Parrot,
Argh!
