I saw her photo on FB today
As a grandparent touched,
Her smile is enigmatic
Mostly in her eyes
Partly on her lips
She clearly
Is an
Exceptional
Gifted young woman &
Some grandson’s girlfriend
To whom I wish only the very
Best of good fortune in her life.
I think we cannot comment
More as we are too close
And far away besides
Being none of our
Business much
Beyond our
Future
DNA
Which
Counts for
Naught to those
Who think they are
Free to pick and chose
Their future and only
Time’s experience
Will give them
Awareness
We are
Too
Aware
Of to comment
As grandparents.
Still, her smile pulses
Enigmatic and her eyes
Seem to me clearly
Fixed on the best
Of all possible
Futures and
I wish her
Luck.
