Fiesta

New

I am 30 driving an
Old VW camper bus
Through the rainy New
Mexico desert to Santa Fe
Past sundown as my wife naps,
The bus needs repair so we stop
At a garage bright with lights where
The owner tells us they can fix it in
A few hours and to come with him
So we agree walking with him
Down the road to a cantina
Restaurant where his cute
Niece is celebrating her
Getting married with
Candles in paper
Bags folk music
By four old men
On fiddles and
Guitars so we
Drink a cold
Cerveza
Eat and
Dance
For hours
Then return
To the garage
Where our VW bus
Is fixed and savor the
Ambience of Santa Fe
At night under a clear sky
Of Stars glad we spoke
Enough Spanish to fit
Into the fiesta that
Is always moving
In the land of
Enchantment.
