I remember an
Afternoon long ago
Lying together in bed
As the curtains moved
In the wind on a warm day
Just looking into your eyes
Touching smiling our heads
Resting on a pillow with the
Sounds of distant traffic
And children playing in
The background but
So in love we didn’t
Notice anything
But each other
And both put
Our tousled
Foreheads
Together
As we
Lay
At
Rest.
